West Coast Dump Stations

Hey guys! We’ve been working on a map that includes all the dump stations we’ve used throughout our travels, and we wanted to share it with you! We will continue to add new locations as we visit them. Please let us know if you have any notes on these facilities so we can keep this map updated. See location notes for more info.

For those who spend a good amount of time in California, we would recommend purchasing a California Explorer Annual Pass. This pass covers the Day Use/Entrance Fee for most of California’s beautiful State Parks and Beaches, many of which have dump stations available.

In our setup the waste water from our sink is collected in a 20 gallon gray water holding tank that is mounted underneath our van. The tank has a 3 inch outlet with a valve and fitting that accepts a standard RV sewer hose. The large drain is meant for draining gray And black water tanks and is a little overkill for our system, but it drains really quickly and it fits a standard (3”) sewer drain which prevents the hose from hanging down in the gross drain. After rinsing our RhinoFlex drain hose, we store it away underneath the van in a Valterra Hose Carrier. You can read more about our water system in our free guides.
